Personal Assistant

Bow Street Area

3 hours per week school term-time

£12.00 per hour plus mileage 45p per mile

Introduction:

We are delighted to offer this vacancy for a Personal Assistant to support our delightful friendly, happy and energetic son to engage in social activities.

This vacancy is currently term-time only but could lead to more hours becoming available over school holidays.

Our son currently enjoys going to the leisure centre to participate in multisport. We would like a PA to explore other activities he may enjoy such as football and swimming. I would also like the PA to spend time with him reading stories. He really enjoys going out and enjoys the park or beach.

Our son has little sense of danger and may require you to hold his hand, depending on his energy levels. He sometimes doesn’t respond to instructions, so we explain to him again slowly and maybe in easy steps. You will need to be patient with him. He has a curious mind so once he is comfortable with someone, he asks a lot of questions.

The ideal PA will have some experience of Autism and have experience of working with younger children with additional needs.

Main Duties:

There are 3 hours per week, which can be worked flexibly between us, around the days we travel to London.

During school terms, we would like you to pick our son up from school at 3:20 and bring him home or take him to Leisure Centre for activities and then drop him home after. If and when going to swimming, you are required to assist in the changing room and prompt him to go to the toilet. He is toilet trained but if he has an accident, you will be required to carry out some personal care.

We prepare food in a lunchbox and there is always plenty of food at home if you return home early. Dry snacks such as crisps and cookies are preferred; he can communicate his needs very well and will ask if he wants anything.

I am looking for a reliable personal assistant to offer me companionship, and assistance to enable me to socialise in and out of my home. I try to be flexible but ideally need someone able to commit to either Thursday or Friday

I am a fairly anxious person who sometimes lacks motivation. I would like your support to accompany me to go out for lunch, go food shopping and to carry out light household tasks. When we are out, I prefer not to be left on my own.

I have two young children; they are in the household after school and during school holidays. You are not required to care for them as such but support me in my parenting role. I like to take them out to places such the park so they can enjoy playing and have a run around.

I would like to find a local Tai Chi class to attend, or go swimming at Penrhos Park in Llanrhystud, but may need encouragement and patience to attend these.

I need a driver to go to these places. I pay mileage and expenses at the end of each 4-week pay period, excluding mileage between home and work. You will need to have appropriate business use cover when using your car in connection with work.

If you are caring and enjoy making a real difference to peoples lives, this could be the right opportunity for you. I look forward to receiving your application.
