Children and Young People’s Library Service
You are never too young to join a library! Give your child the best start in life by bringing him/her to your local library here in Ceredigion, and help him/her to become a life long reader. All for free, of course!
We add new books to our stock every week, and there is something here for everyone – from the latest story books for the child who is beginning to read on his own, to interesting and accessible factual books for the child doing his homework! Our knowledgeable library staff are always ready to help you and advise you about suitable books for your child, so don’t hesitate before asking for help.
Each child can have his / her own library membership card, and can borrow up to 20 books for a month FOR FREE. There are no fines for books returned late on a child’s card.
Sharing books, rhymes and stories with your child from an early age is a lot of fun, and helps your child to learn and develop many new, important skills.
It doesn’t matter how young your child is, there’s plenty of choice in your local library:

Summer Reading Challenge
This is the yearly highlight of the Children’s Library Service in Ceredigion. The Summer Reading Challenge encourages children of all ages to read for pleasure outside school during the summer holidays. Children can take part in a new and exciting challenge every year, choosing which books to read and winning fantastic prizes on their reading journey through the scheme.
