Energy efficiency drop-in session for Ceredigion residents

Ceredigion residents are invited to attend an energy efficiency drop-in session organised by Ceredigion County Council’s Housing Service.

Residents are invited to call in to explore schemes available and to receive advice on energy efficiency measures that can be taken in their homes to help alleviate high fuel bills and reduce carbon emissions. The drop-in session will take place at Lampeter Wellbeing Centre on Friday 21 February 2025, from 11.30 to 16.00.

Since the beginning of the energy crisis in October 2021, the average energy bill has increased significantly with many unable to afford to heat their homes to the temperature needed to keep warm and healthy, and falling into debt.

Citizens Advice Ceredigion, the Energy Saving Trust (on behalf of the Welsh Government Warm Homes Nest scheme), West Wales Care & Repair and Severn Wye Energy Agency will be in attendance to offer energy efficiency advice and information on the services that they can provide to Ceredigion residents.

Councillor Matthew Vaux, Ceredigion’s Cabinet Member for Partnerships, Housing, Legal and Governance and Public Protection said: “This is a great opportunity for people in Ceredigion to go along to the Wellbeing Centre in Lampeter where key partners will be in attendance to provide valuable advice and information to all residents. As we continue to live through the Cost of Living crisis that’s impacting on all, it’s be the perfect opportunity for residents to learn about the Energy Efficiency measures which may be suitable for their properties, to increase its thermal efficiency and in return reduce their outgoings.”

Information and guidance will also be available on Energy Company Obligation 4 Flexible Eligibility (ECO4 Flex) and Great British Insulation Scheme Flexible Eligibility (GBIS Flex) that Ceredigion County Council participates in. ‘ECO4 Flexible Eligibility’ (ECO4 Flex) is a household referral mechanism within the wider ECO4 Scheme. GBIS continues ECO4’s focus on reducing fuel poverty and energy bills but aims to deliver rapid installation of energy efficiency measures to a wider pool of households in the least efficient homes.
