Celebrate the wonders of Waunfawr wildlife: a free event in honour of UNESCO Dyfi Biosphere

Everyone is invited to The Wonders of Waunfawr Wildlife, a free event at Waunfawr Community Hall on Friday 12 July between 17:00 and 19:00 to explore, identify and record the wildlife around us with storytelling from Milly Jackdaw, children’s activities and a wildlife safari.

Waunfawr is celebrating its new status as part of the UNESCO Dyfi Biosphere which has expanded to welcome five new Community Council areas into the wider area that benefits from this international status. Bring your friends and family to join in the fun and find out more.

Representatives from the Ceredigion Local Nature Partnership, Dyfi Biosphere and the West Wales Biodiversity Recording Centre will be attending the event to celebrate.

Bring your spare seedlings, cuttings and plants to the pollinator-friendly Plant Swap Stall and give wildlife a boost in your own garden. There will also be an opportunity to win an apple tree.

Rachel Auckland, Coordinator at Ceredigion Local Nature Partnership, said: “We are delighted that the Dyfi Biosphere is growing, and Waunfawr is celebrating in such a nature-friendly way.  This shows how a Ceredigion community can help to place Wales and our wonderful wildlife on the world stage. It’s very exciting!”
