Brief details of proposed activities:
1. Removal of the condition, "The premises licence holder will ensure that the venue is a member of the BOBB scheme".
The police have been consulted on the removal of this condition and agree that the membership of the scheme should be voluntary and not mandated by the premises licence.
2. Amendment to the condition:, "From 21:00 until closure of the premises at 1.30.a.m the beer garden and its entrance will be closely supervised by the minimum of one door supervisor". to the:
From 21:00 until closure of the premises at 1.30.a.m regular patrols of the beer garden and its entrance will take place by staff and/or a door supervisor. Those patrols will be documented in a log book kept for that purpose"
The condition as worded is not fit for purpose. After 21:00 the beer garden is used by very few smokers who are outside the premises for no more than 10 minutes. To mandate that a door supervisor has to be stood in the beer garden constantly is not needed, when they can be employed keeping customers safe elsewhere in the premises.
